ASB Procedures
Starting or Renewing a Club
Requirements, paperwork, and approval steps to charter a new club or renew an existing one.
Requirements
- A certificated employee of LUSD must be the advisor.
- Students must play a major role in decision making — the advisor guides and acts as a trustee of student funds.
- All clubs must have elected officers and formal monthly meetings.
- Copies of meeting minutes must be submitted to ASB.
What's submitted to ASB
Everything is submitted online in KnightHub — there are no Google Doc copies to download. The charter packet includes:
- The club application & charter details
- The club constitution (fill-in articles with editable defaults)
- The proposed budget (a table that totals itself)
- Club minutes reflecting the approved constitution
Sign in with your mylusd.org email, save as you go, sign digitally, and submit. You can download a clean PDF of the packet for your records.
Once approved
- An email confirmation is sent out when the application is approved and returned.
- The bookkeeper is cc'd and will activate your ASBWorks account and provide log-in information.
- With ASBWorks log-in, the club advisor should review club account financial activity regularly.
Budget
- Each club must have a proposed budget.
- Your budget is an estimate — budgets can be revised.
- If the budget changes, submit a revised budget.
